I took guitar lessons for about six months, in 1965, when I was 12 years old.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Chicago, in 1972, in Kingsville, Texas. It was the original seven, prior to Terry Kaths death. It was in a very large venue, but no seating. Everyone stood. Girls on the shoulders of the guys they were with. No other band... just Chicago. Great concert!
What gear do you use?
Martin 12-string and 6-string acoustic electric guitars. I prefer the 12-string... slightly.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
To enjoy the music of others, pick up new ideas for cover songs, that would fit my style and abilities.
To share my acoustic recordings.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
James Taylor, Jim Croce... Glen Campbell... later on, Dan Fogelberg... solo guitarists, singers, songwriters... storytellers...
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
No, I play guitar in our church Service, and lead Worship music in our Spanish Service. I teach guitar, as a sort of informal Guitar Ministry to anyone who wants to learn.
I enjoy what I call my Acoustic Afternoons... or Evenings, recording cover songs, and sharing them here, on Facebook, and YouTube.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Does Church every Sunday count? .
About 400 each week.
Though, we obviously don't consider it a performance.
